About me…

I specialise in making recordings and films for classical, acoustic, folk and jazz-based musicians, with an emphasis on the highest sound and picture quality.

I started recording at a very early age, experimenting with reel-to reel recorders and 4-track cassette machines. At the same time, I was learning violin, viola and guitar and playing in youth orchestras and bands. It wasn’t long before I was recording the bands I played in and people started to ask me to record them too.

I made my first films at high-school, but took to it more seriously at art college, which eventually earned me a 1st class honours degree in Fine Art. I went on to work for Sky One’s pioneering sci-fi drama Space Island One where I was (amongst other things) chief robot-wrangler, and then eventually set up and ran documentary production company Green Lions, with friends and film-makers David Bond and Ashley Jones.

My life as a musician has involved playing, touring and recording for Barry Adamson, Burning Salt, Fanfarlo, James Apollo, Me and Bobby, Tom McKean & the Emperors, and many others. I’ve toured the UK, Europe, Australia and the U.S.A.

I do what I love - bringing all these disciplines together to capture musical performances with a combined sonic and visual perspective.

If you’re looking for someone to help you capture a performance, concert, session or idea with a sympathetic, sensitive approach and attention to the details that make a difference, please get in touch.
